Today’s special feature is a door disguised as a chalkboard. While it's not the same kind of hidden door you might have seen on Scooby Doo as a kid (there are no hidden levers or rotating bookcases), it's still a pretty cool feature.
It was done by painting the top half of a smooth door with chalkboard paint, removing the doorknob and adding 1x4 trim with cabinet doors below. Self-closing hinges were installed, and the outside door trim was installed to work as a doorstop. As you can see, it's not only a fun feature, it's also relatively easy and inexpensive to install.
